In April, 2007, John N. Dornan, Jr. was named the first Executive Director of the CEO Roundtable on Cancer, a non-profit organization co-founded by former President George H. W. Bush, to bring together business executives dedicated to eliminating cancer as a public health threat. In this capacity, Mr. Dornan provides administrative oversight of the CEO Roundtable’s initiatives including the CEO Cancer Gold Standard, a workplace accreditation program that recognizes companies for providing state-of-the-art preventive care and cancer treatment for employees and their family members.
Prior to joining the CEO Roundtable on Cancer, Dornan served as Vice President of Trone, a mid-Atlantic regional advertising and public relations agency. Mr. Dornan formerly headed corporate public relations for SAS Institute, the world’s largest privately held software company. He began his career in North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services where he provided outreach support and communications services for the state’s welfare reform efforts and programs for children and families including the nationally renowned Smart Start early childhood initiative founded by Gov. James B. Hunt.
Mr. Dornan is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Penn State University. He and his wife Debra live in Raleigh, NC and are the proud parents of six children.
