Judy O'Hagan

Judy-OHagan.jpgJudy O’Hagan is a Vice President of sanofi U.S. and a Member of the US Executive Committee.  She reports to the CEO and currently heads U.S. Human Resources, which includes:

  • Human Resources Business Partner Organization (provides full range of strategic and operational HR support acting as the single point of contact for HR)
  • Recruitment 
  • Employee Relations, Center of Excellence (conducts HR Investigations and provides consultative support and guidance to clients)
  • Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
  • HR Operations (HRIS, Data Management, Processes Practices & Sox, Metrics & Reporting)
  • Talent Management 
  • HR Strategy & Organizational Effectiveness

Judy began her career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1978 as an HR professional at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corporation where she gained experience in Compensation, Recruiting, Management/Leadership Development, and diversified HR generalist experience in supporting R&D, Manufacturing, Corporate Services and Sales & Marketing.

In 1996, when Sandoz and Ciba-Geigy merged to form Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, Judy was appointed Executive Director for the Organization and Leadership Development function. In that role she managed two merger integration teams, designed and implemented a management development curriculum, led the change management program for the 2 integrating companies, and had overall responsibility for OD programs and initiatives.

In 1999, Judy was appointed Vice President, Human Resources for the Commercial Division of Novartis where she led a team of 15 HR professionals to provide full HR generalist and specialist support to a client population of over 7,000 employees. Her key accomplishments in that role include:

  • HR Leadership and Change Management Responsibility for 6 field force expansions and multiple redeployments/realignments
  • Established a Leadership Development Programs for key talent within the Sales & Marketing organization. This work was cited as a “Best Practice” globally and served as the model for international development programs
  • Designed and implemented Talent Management Tools and Systems
  • Implemented multiple, innovative compensation programs and strategies to ensure retention of top talent

In September 2007, Judy joined Sanofi as the VP of U.S. Human Resources.

Judy received her BA in French from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
