The CEO Roundtable on Cancer Salutes SAS and Meridian Health

The CEO Roundtable on Cancer, the nonprofit organization of cancer-fighting CEOs who created the CEO Cancer Gold Standard, salutes SAS Institute for being ranked No.1 on FORTUNE magazine’s annual “100 Best Companies to Work For” list.

SAS, under the leadership of founder and CEO, Jim Goodnight, was among the first companies in the nation to achieve CEO Cancer Gold Standard™ accreditation, recognizing the software company’s commitment to taking concrete actions to reduce the cancer risk of employees and their families through screenings, early detection, and healthy changes in lifestyle.

A long-time employer of choice, from its beginnings SAS has established a benefits plan and corporate culture that supports its belief that happy, healthy employees are more productive. Similarly, as a charter member of the CEO Roundtable on Cancer, Jim Goodnight has long recognized that employers have a unique opportunity to positively impact the health and well-being of employees and their families and in doing so, can also provide real hope in the fight against cancer.

The CEO Roundtable also wishes to congratulate Meridian Health, a health system based in New Jersey, on being named as one of the 100 best companies on FORTUNE’s list.   Meridian Health, under the leadership of President John Lloyd, joined the growing number of Gold Standard employers in 2009.

Congratulations to both SAS and Meridian for achieving this distinction.
